Add your booking link to Google
What this covers
Putting a booking link on your Google listing, so people can reserve straight from Search and Maps. It takes about five minutes and is, for most restaurants, the single highest-value thing in this section.
Tabledoo describes it as: "Add your booking URL to Google Maps so guests can reserve directly from Search and Google Maps."
Why it is worth doing today
Somebody searching your restaurant's name on their phone is as close to booking as a customer ever gets. If there is no way to reserve from that screen, they either call — engaged, mid-service — or they tap whichever booking portal has claimed the space, and you pay commission on a guest who was already yours.
A direct link costs nothing per booking and needs no approval from anyone.
How to add it
The steps are on the Booking tab of Public Pages Design, next to the URL you need:
- Sign in to your Google Business Profile.
- Select your restaurant, then click Edit profile.
- Open the Contact tab.
- Under Links, find Reservations and paste your booking URL, then Save.
Copy the URL from that page rather than typing it — it is exactly the address guests need.
Afterwards
- Google can take a little while to show the change. Do not re-paste it repeatedly.
- Search for your restaurant on a phone and check the button is there and goes to your page.
- Watch the Booking page funnel report over the following weeks — this is usually where a jump in page views comes from.
While you are in there
Two other things worth a minute, since you are already signed in: check your opening hours match what you have in Tabledoo, and that your phone number is right. Both are more visible to a potential guest than anything on your own website.
