Embedding the booking form on your website

What this covers

Putting the booking form inside your own website, instead of sending guests away to another page. Needs the manage-settings permission — and, usually, whoever looks after your website.

Both options are on the Booking tab of Public Pages Design.

Why bother

Every time a guest leaves your site, some of them do not arrive. Keeping the form on your own page removes that step, and it looks more like your restaurant and less like a third-party tool.

Two ways

OptionWhat it is
Embed Snippet (recommended)A small script that draws the form directly into your page — no frame. "Renders the form directly in your page — no iframe. Fully responsive, adapts to any container width."
Embed URL (iframe mode)The page inside a frame. "Defaults to 700px height. The included script automatically adjusts the height as the form loads."

Prefer the snippet. It adapts to whatever width your page gives it, which matters on a phone, and it avoids the scrollbar-inside-a-box look. Use the iframe only if your site builder refuses to accept scripts.

Adding it

  1. Copy the snippet from the Booking tab.
  2. Paste it into your website where you want the form — a "Book a table" page, or a section of your home page.
  3. Publish, and load the page on a phone as well as a computer.

Most site builders — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow — have a "custom code" or "embed" block for exactly this. If yours strips scripts out, use the iframe option instead.

If it does not appear

  1. Your site stripped the script. Common on locked-down builders and free plans. Use the iframe.
  2. It is in the wrong place. The snippet draws the form where you put it; if that is inside a hidden tab, it is hidden too.
  3. Public booking is switched off. The embed shows the same message the page does.

Good to know

  • Bookings arrive exactly the same as from your Tabledoo page, with the same rules and the same confirmations.
  • Embedded copies are kept out of search results, deliberately, so your page and your website are not competing for the same search.
  • Analytics do not run inside an embed — see SEO and analytics for your booking page.
  • Keep the plain link too, for Instagram and Google, where you cannot embed anything.
