Embedding your events

What this covers

Showing your events on your own website. Needs the Events feature and the manage-settings permission.

The options

  • The events widget — a script that draws your published events straight into your page, with dates and booking, no frame.
  • An iframe embed of your events list, or of a single event.
  • A plain link to /whats-on/your-restaurant.

The widget is the best of the three for a "What's On" page: it looks like part of your site and adapts to the width you give it.

Which to use where

WhereUse
A "What's On" page on your websiteThe widget — the whole list, always current.
Promoting one eventA link to that event's own page — better for sharing and for social previews.
Instagram, Facebook, an emailThe plain link. You cannot embed anything in those.

Good to know

  • It stays current on its own. Publish an event and it appears; a date sells out and it shows as sold out. Nothing to update on your website.
  • Only published events appear — drafts stay private.
  • Bookings behave identically to ones made on your Tabledoo event page.
  • Embedded copies are kept out of search results, so they do not compete with your own event pages.
