SEO and analytics for your booking page
What this covers
Helping your booking page be found, and measuring what happens on it. Needs the SEO Enhanced Booking Page feature — without it you see "SEO not included in your plan" — and the manage-settings permission.
On the Booking tab: Booking Page SEO, "Configure meta tags and analytics for your public booking page."
Switching it on
Enable booking page SEO — "When enabled, your booking page can be configured for indexing and richer metadata."
The fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Meta title | The headline in Google results and the browser tab. Include your restaurant name and your town — "Book a table · Trattoria Mario, Limassol". |
| Meta description | The grey text under the headline. Write it as an invitation, not a description; it is often what decides the click. |
| Open Graph image URL | The picture shown when your link is posted to WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook. Without one, your link looks like a bare address. |
| Privacy Policy URL | Linked from the page. Worth having if you operate anywhere with privacy rules — which is most places. |
Analytics
Two fields: Google Tag Manager ID and Google Analytics Measurement ID. Use whichever you already have — if you fill in both, Tag Manager takes precedence.
The cookie banner appears only if you fill one of these in
This is the part worth knowing before you decide to bother. No tracking ID means no cookie banner — your guests go straight to booking with nothing to dismiss. The moment you save a Tag Manager or Analytics ID, a consent banner starts appearing on your public pages, because that is what the law requires once you are running third-party analytics.
What the guest sees: "This page uses analytics cookies — We use anonymous analytics (page visits only — no advertising) to help the restaurant improve their booking experience." with Accept and Decline, and a link to your privacy policy if you have filled in that field. Their choice is remembered, so it is asked once, not on every visit — and it covers your booking, events and menu pages together rather than asking three times.
Nothing is tracked until they accept. Decline, and the scripts never load at all. Tracking is also switched off entirely inside an embedded copy of the page. So your Analytics numbers will read lower than your real traffic — that is the correct trade for handling consent properly, not a fault.
If you do not already use Google Analytics, you probably do not need to start. The Booking page funnel report already tells you views, slot searches, submissions and completed bookings — counted anonymously on Tabledoo's side, so it needs no cookies, no consent banner and no configuration at all. Leaving these two fields blank keeps your booking page one step shorter for every guest.
Fill them in when you genuinely need something the funnel report cannot answer — typically because you are running ads and need to see which campaign produced the booking.
What to expect from the SEO side
Realistic: this helps people who are already looking for you find your booking page instead of a portal. It will not make you rank for "best restaurant in town".
For that reason, the highest-value thing in this whole category is not on this tab — it is adding your booking link to Google Business Profile, which takes five minutes and puts a Reserve button directly in Search and Maps.
