Restaurant profile
What this covers
Your restaurant's name and contact details, and — more usefully — everywhere they appear.
Requires the manage-settings permission (Owner or Manager). Find them at
Property Settings → Restaurant (/settings/restaurant).
The four fields
- Restaurant name — up to 255 characters
- Phone — up to 50 characters
- Email — must be a valid address
- Address — up to 500 characters, free text on one line
There is no website field. If you want to send guests to your site, that belongs on your public pages (link Branding your public pages).
Where each one shows up
This is the part worth knowing, because none of these are internal labels. Every one of them is shown to guests somewhere.
| Appears in | Uses |
|---|---|
| Guest emails — confirmations, reminders, updates, cancellations, review requests | Name, email, phone, address |
| Guest text messages | Name and phone |
| Your public booking page | Name, and contact details in the footer |
| Your public menu page | Name |
| Your events page | Name |
| The chatbot's answers | Name and opening hours |
| Search engine listings for your pages | Name |
| Reports | Nothing directly, but the currency set on this page drives every money figure |
The phone number gets used more than you would think
It is included in every text message you send, because a text is a dead end otherwise — a guest cannot reply to one usefully. Most phones turn a number in a message into something the guest can tap to call, so it is the fastest route a guest has back to you.
Which makes one thing important: put the number somebody actually answers during service. An office line that rings out at 19:00 is worse than useless in a booking reminder (link SMS: what's different).
The email address is where guests reply
Guest emails carry this address, so when someone replies to a confirmation to ask about a highchair, this is where it lands. Make sure it is a mailbox that is read, not a no-reply.
Treat it as your single source of truth
Because these fields feed so many surfaces, changing them here changes them everywhere at once — which is the point. When you move premises, change your phone number, or rebrand, this page is the only place you need to touch.
The corollary is that stale details here are stale everywhere, quietly. An old phone number keeps going out on every reminder, every text and every chatbot answer, and nothing will flag it.
Worth checking once a year
- Is the phone number current, and answered during service?
- Is the email a mailbox someone reads?
- Is the address right, including anything a delivery driver or a first-time guest needs?
- Is the name spelled exactly as you want it on a guest's confirmation?
Good to know
Fill these in before you go live. The fields start empty, and an empty restaurant name means guest emails go out without one. It is the first step of the setup checklist for that reason (link Your first day).
Saving this page completes a setup step. The first save marks the Restaurant Setup step of the onboarding wizard as done (link The setup wizard).
This is not your billing information. The name and address on your invoices are held separately with your payment details (link Invoices and receipts).
The chatbot has its own extra fields. Parking, transit and policies are configured with the chatbot, not here (link Setting up the chatbot).
