Quick actions from Live View

What this covers

Everything you can do from Live View without opening another screen. Which actions you see depends on your role.

Seat a table and move bookings along

Tap any occupied or reserved table to open its booking. From there you can Mark Arrived, Mark Seated, Complete, No Show or Cancel Reservation, and see the special requests and any notes held on the guest. See Running service: advancing a booking.

All four roles can do this, servers included.

Seat someone at a free table

A free table invites you to use it — Open now · click to create reservation. Click it and the booking form opens with that table and the current time already filled in. This is the fastest way to seat a walk-in. See Walk-ins.

Needs permission to create bookings: Owner, Manager or Host.

Seat a guest from the waitlist

When a table frees up and people are waiting, you do not need to go to the Waitlist screen. Live View can seat the next party directly: you see who is waiting alongside the tables that are free right now, pick one, and the waiting entry becomes a seated booking in a single step.

See Quick Seat: waitlist to booking.

Filter down to one section

Use the section filter so a server sees only their own area. The counts follow the filter, so you can see how your own section is doing rather than the whole room.

Rearrange the room mid-shift

If your plan includes the floor plan, a pencil button opens a quick editor for moving tables around during service — pushing two together, adding an extra table on the terrace. See Quick floor edits during service.

Close a table's ordering session

If guests order from their phones, you can end a table's ordering session from the Orders board when the party leaves, so a photographed code cannot keep ordering. See Table sessions.

A suggested rhythm for a shift

  1. Before service — check the Timeline, clear the Unassigned tray.
  2. At the door — Live View. Mark arrivals, seat guests.
  3. During — glance at the Delayed count. Chase or release late bookings.
  4. As tables leave — Complete, with the bill if you record it.
  5. When something frees — check the waitlist before turning anyone away.
