Order history

What this covers

Looking back at orders after the fact, at Orders → history (/orders/view).

What it is for

The Orders board shows what is happening now, and clears as tables finish. The history keeps everything: every order, active or finished, with its items, options, notes, quantities and prices as they were at the time.

When you will want it

• "We never ordered that." The order shows exactly what was sent, from which table, at what time, with which options.
• "This took forever." The status timings show when it arrived and when it moved.
• Reviewing a service — what actually sold on a busy Saturday.
• Checking a price as it was charged, not as it is today.

Finding an order

The list is filterable and paginated, most recent first. If you know roughly when and which table, you will find it in a few seconds.

Good to know

• Nothing is deleted. Cancelled orders stay, marked cancelled — which is what you want when somebody asks why a table was not charged for something.
• Prices are historical, recorded when the order was placed.
• It is not a sales report. For revenue, record bills on the booking and use the revenue report — see Revenue report.
